Some people are practically born knowing what their life purpose is, but most of us have to spend a lot of time and energy searching for it. We usually either find it by virtue of our experiences, or we define it with our dreams and aspirations. Our talents and qualities also often serve to shape how we come to understand our purpose. Some of us thrive when we use our natural or developed skills and abilities, and others shine brightest while lending a helping hand.
However, the way is not always clear to many people, despite knowing what they are good at. It can be difficult to get a full grasp of our “why” if we haven’t had the life experiences that allow us to know what we really want or what inspires us. Some people need to explore many different career avenues, try out new hobbies, and travel around the world before they can understand why they were put here on earth. Knowing your life purpose is not a requirement for living, but it’s essential to be familiar with your life purpose if you want to live a life full of joy and meaning.
You know what you have already done, and you have a vague idea of what you want to do. You may already know what truly inspires you. In order to marry your passions with your skills and figure out which direction you want to go in, it’s important to take positive action steps. It’s not always easy to figure it out by ourselves, and it’s more than okay to ask for help when facing a life purpose dilemma. While friends and family make up a wonderful support system, a life coach can point you to helpful tools and processes and put you on the fast track to finding out what you’re meant to do.
